DATE LOAF CANDY
2 c. sugar
1 c. milk
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 sm. pkg. chopped dates
1 tsp. oleo
1 c. chopped pecans
Combine sugar, milk, dates and oleo. Stir and bring to boil. Let
cook to soft ball stage. Remove from heat, add salt, vanilla and
nuts. Beat until very thick. Pour a thin strip onto a clean tea
towel, roll in towel. Let cool and slice thin.
